The failing of the Church is that, at its core, it rejects knowledge and fosters cognitive dissonance in its members. It cannot admit that it has ever been wrong. Progressive exegesis hammers ancient texts so thin as to make them functionally transparent. Why don't we have the courage to inquire into spiritual matters armed with the latest scientific knowledge?
